October is finally here! It has brought with it beautiful fall weather and the need for sweaters, warm drinks, and an extra blanket, at night. It possesses that looming, haunted feeling that ends with Halloween. It is the beginning of the holiday season that leads to Thanksgiving and Christmas, full of love, family, food, and a sense of community. But for now, we get the chance to indulge in a little darkness.
Truth be told, I am kind of obsessed with horror movies. Halloween comes around, though, and my obsession grows and so, this year, to celebrate the gorey, gruesome, schlock fest that is the horror film, I am going to watch one horror film every day of October! I began with Sleepy Hollow to celebrate the lore that belongs to the Hudson Valley and on Halloween, I am going to end with Trick ‘r Treat, which I am going to be giving away (on DVD)! Enter below for your chance to win this movie and a few other surprise Halloween-themed goodies!

So, there are a few movies on this list that may not constitute as “horror”, strictly speaking, but I love them and they are part of a long tradition. (What’s the Halloween season without The Sanderson Sisters, amirite?) What movies are part of your Halloween tradition? What do you think of the movies on this list? Let me know in the comments! And now without further ado…
